In the name of God amen I John Henry Firesheets being in my right senses and
mind but week of body and in a low state of health do make this my last will
and testament setting all others aside but this alone to divide my estate
after paying all my just debts as follows to wit I leave and bequeave to my
Dear wife Kizsiah Firesheths all my estate during her widowhood or until my
eldest child comes of age and then for the hole hole to be divided equally
amongst them all as the law directs leaving my wife Kizsiah Firesheths and
Jobe Jones Executors to my will Is my desire and wish in witness whereof I
have unto set my and affixed my seal this twelth day of September one-thousand
Eight hundred and nine

At a court held for Halifax County the 25th day of December 1809

The within written last will and Testament of John Henry Firesheets and was
exhibited in court and proved by the oaths of three witnesses thereto
subscribed and ordered to be recorded ~and thereupon Keziah Firesheets widow
of said deceadent came into Court and renounced the provision made her thereby
~

And at another Court held for the said County the 28th day of May 1810 On
motion of Keziah Firesheets the executrix therein named, who made oath thereto
according to law certificate is granted her for obtaining probate thereof in
due from the giving security ~ Whereupon she together with Nathan Jones &
Bailey Strange her securities entered into & acknowledged this bond in the
penalty of five thousand dollars conditioned according to law~
