Will of James Irvine, 1773, Inventory, 1775 - Halifax Co. VA Will Book I 1773-1783 78 JAMES IRVINE Will "...being very sick & weak in body but of perfect mind & memory..." To Jannat my dearly beloved wife 127 acres of land off this tract whereon I now live containing 527 acres in all & when the division is made the lines are to run parralell, also a negro fellow named Sterling & his wife Agg a negro wench. All to be her lawful right during her life & after her death the two negroes & their increase are to be divided equally among those children to whom there will be no negroes willed. To my dearly beloved son, John 100 acres of land out of this tract whereupon I now live as also a negro boy named Luke with a proportionable part of my moveable estate. To my second well beloved son James 100 acres of land, do. & a negro boy Charles & do. To my 3rd well beloved son, Samuel 100 acres do. & a negro boy Jack, do. To my 4th well beloved son, William 100 acres of land do. & a negro boy & do. To my 5th well beloved son, Alexander 127 acres of land, which land he is to fall heir to at wifes death, it being her part, & do. do. To my well beloved daughters, Mary, Margaret, Jane, & Isbell a proportional part of my estate. Also a negro wench, Sarah to be sold, her & her increase & the money equally divided among 4 of my daughters as follows: Mary, Margaret, Jane & Isbell.
