Reves of Halifax County and State of Virginia being of a sound mind and of a disposing memory do make this my last will and testament in the name of Almighty God 1st I will that all of my just debts should be paid 2nd I lend unto my wife Michael Reves during life or widowhood one third part of my perishable Estate including my Silver watch & Bur--- Testament with one third of my lands including my Griss Mill and appurtenances 3rd I give and bequeath unto my son William Reves my Silver watch at the death of his mother or end of her widowhood to have and to hold forever 4th I will and bequeath the balance of my Estate to be sold and equally divided among all of my children (viz) William Reves, Thomas Reves, Elizabeth Reves, Nancy Reves, Peter Reves, Sally S. Reves and John Y. Reves. Also their mother’s dower, except my watch that I have given to my son William Reves to have and to hold forever 5th I will that my friend Joel Hubbard do act as my Executor to this my last will and testament in testimony whereof I have herewith set my hand and seal this 27th day of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and twenty nine. Wm T. Reves S/S Witness Wm Collins In a Court held for Halifax County the 24th day of August 1829 the within written last will and testament of Wm T. Reves decd was exhibited in Court and proved by the oath of one witness thereto subscribed and named to be recorded whereupon Joel Hubbard the executor therein named came into Court and refused to take upon himself the Execution thereof. And at an other Court held for the said County the 28th day of Sept 1829 the same was again exhibited in Court and on motion of Peter Reves and William C. Ferrill who made bond thereto asserting according to law and with Leonard Milner, John M. Clark, John Ferril (?) their securities entered into and acknowledged bond in the penalty of $4,000 conditioned as the law directs. Certificate is granted thereon for obtaining letters of administration of the Estate of Wm. T. Reves and with his will aforesaid annexed in our form.
