Will Book Written: October 1803 October Court 1803 In the name of God Amen I John Salmon of the County Of Halifax being indipond in body but of a sound mind and memory named be God for the same do make contitute and ordain this and or one, but this to be my last Will & Testament in manner and form following heirs___ First of all I give my soul to God who gave it ever and my body to the dirt to be buried in a desent manner and a touching such worldly goods as I perceds I give in the following manner heirs__name I give to my son Henry Salmon one hundred and twenty-eight acres of land which I have hereafter made him a deed for and he hath it in position together with a feather bed & other property which he also hath in postion__ I give to my daughter Winnifred Boyd wife to John Boyd one feather bed a cow and weeding saddle which she hath in position. I give to my son Robert Salmon all the land lying south of my lane and the path leading to Wm. Woods In excepting my mill and six acres of land together with a feather bed and other property which he hath in position I give to my daughter Susanna Bradshaw wife to William Bradshaw one bed a cow and saddle which she hath in position___I give to Jenny Wood wife to William Wood a feather bed a cow and a saddle which she hath in position___I lend to my beloved wife Sausanna Salmon & my son James Salmon the reminder of my land where in I now live being one hundred acres were are left together with my mill and six acres of land during my wife life to each of them for a position together with all the rest render and remainder of my personal estate provided my son James should pay all my deed debts and after the death of my wife I give & bequeath the land so as offered lent to my son James Salmon and his heirs and begin forever together with my mill and six acres of land and all the next render and remainder of my estate___In Witness where of I have hereuntoset my hand and seal this 9th day of July 1803 I appoint my son James & Wm Wood joint executers to this will John Salmon At the court held for Halifax county the 26th day of September 1803 The within written last Will & Testament of John Salmon deceased exhibited in court_and preserved by oath of one of the executer thereto subscribe and ordered to be certified_And at another court held for the said county the 24th day of Oct. 1803 The same was again exhibitied in court and further preserved by the oath from other executers thereto recieved and ordered to be recorded and on the mention of William Wood in one of the executers therein named who made oath according to law: certificate is granted him for obtaining fudited there of in dear from he giving security wherecefren he together with William Bradshaw and William Salmon his sercurities, interested into and acknowledged their lend in the penalty of one thousand dollars conditioned as the law directs liberty being received to the other executer, therein named, justin in the protecter, thereof, when he shall think defer... John Wmbirk C.H.C Additional Comments: This John Salmon, is in my Salmon line. He has either two brothers named Joel & William Jr. Salmon. Or William is the father Of John & Joel Salmon. My ggg- grandfather lived on their land, his name Was John Salmon born 1790, and he married Agnes Torian in 1822, they sold their land and moved to Christian co Ky in 1832. I am still needing anyone who can tell me more on these men, William,Joel & John Salmon who lived together on the waters of Lawsons Creek in Halifax co va.
