Item--At my death in order to make my son Lewis Tune equal with the rest of his Brothers I give to him and his heirs that part of my tract of land whereon I now live. Item-I also give to my son Lewis Tune in absolute possession from this day forever one Negro boy named Ben valued at two hundred and fifty dollars to him and his heirs forever. Item-I give in like manner to my daughter Sally Scurlock one Negro girl named Rody valued at three hundred and fifty dollars to her and her heirs forever. Item-I give in like manner to my son Travis Tune one Negro woman named Dicy valued at three hundred and sixty six dollars to him and his heirs forever. Item-I give in like manner to my son Kester Tune one Negro woman named Jinney valued at three hundred dollars to him and his heirs forever. Item-I give in like manner to my daughter Fanny Tune one Negro girl named Chaney valued at two hundred and fifty dollars to her and her heirs forever. Item-I give to my son James Tune one Negro girl names Phillis in like manner valued at two hundred and twenty five dollars to him and his heirs forever. Item-I give in like manner to my son John Tune one Negro boy named Simon valued at three hundred dollars to him and his heirs forever. Item-I give in like manner to my son William Tune one Negro girl named Agnes valued at one hundred and seventy dollars to him and his heirs forever. Item-I give in like manner to my son Thomas Tune one Negro boy name Anthony valued at two hundred dollars to him and his heirs forever. Item-At my death after paying all my just and honest debts each of my daughters Elizabeth Sampson and Nancy Conley, not before mentioned, shall have paid to them in money out of that part of my Estate which I shall hold during my natural life and which is not yet disposed of the sum of two hundred and sixty six dollars to equal the present average value of the slaves above disposed of promised nevertheless that my Executors hereafter to be mentioned shall pay to my son William Tune out of the money to be paid to my daughter Elizabeth Sampson a certain sum advanced to Jesse Sampson in his lifetime to make him the said Sampson to pay his debts and remove to the Western Country. The amount not recollected for which I have since given my son William my land: in order that he shall be secured in the payment at my death together with the interest from the time the money was advanced. Item-At my death I give to each of my daughters Fanny and Polly in order to make them equal with their other sisters which have married; a feather bed and furniture which they now claim as theirs, also one horse saddle & bridle & one cow & calf each to them and their heirs forever. Item-The residue of my estate after paying my just and honest debts and the legacies above mentioned to each of my daughters Elizabeth Sampson and Nancy Conley I wish divided in such manner as to make all my children equal as regards personal estate that is to say every child within is to have and to hold absolutely forever the property within named at it's present valuation and at my death all to be made equal. Item--And lastly I do nominate constitute and appoint my son James Tune and my friend Zachariah Williams Executors to this my last will and testament hereby revoking all others made by me. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 28" day of February in the year of our Lord Christ one Thousand eight hundred and Eighteen. In the God Amen I Travis Tune Sr. of Halifax County Virginia in consequence of the death of Chaney which my daughter Fanny Tune never had in possession-which was named in the above will. I now give her a Negro woman named Lucy and her increase from this time to her and her heirs forever-Giving under my hand and seal this 7" day of January in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and twenty four. Williams Henry Taylor At a court held for Halifax Court County the 24" day of December 1827 The within written last will and testament of Travis Tune deceased was exhibited in court and proved by the oaths of two witnesses thereto subscribed and the codicil thereto annexed was also proved by two witnesses thereto subscribed whereupon it is ordered that the said will and codicil be recorded. And on the motion of James Tune one of the executors therein named who made oath according to law and with William Tune, Travis Tune, Kester Tune and Lewis Tune his securities entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $1,000 conditioned as the law directs certificate is granted him for obtaining probate of said will in due form-Liberty being reserved to the other executor to join in the probate when he shall think proper.
