I Luke Williams being sick of body tho sound of mind and memory. I give and bequeath my body to the Dust and my soul to God that gave it. After all my just debts are paid. Item. I give and bequeath to my son William Williams one Negro man named Jack, and to his son Luke Williams my horse bridle and saddle. Item. I give and bequeath to Edmond Irby and my daughter Caty Williams one Negro woman named Lucy. Also to my daughter Caty Williams one feather bed and furniture, one cow and calf. Item. I give and bequeath to William Irby one feather bed and furniture and all my wearing clothes. Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter Betsy Twedwell one feather bed and furniture, one oval table, one half dozen pewter plates, one pewter dish. Item. I give and bequeath to my son Zachariah Williams my Still and worm. And all rest of my estate to be equally divided between William Williams, William Irby, John Chapman, Edmond Irby, Caty Williams, Luke Williams and Betsy Twedwell. Also I appoint Zachariah Williams my hole and sole executor of this my last will and testament this ninth day of February 1810 hereunto I have fixed my hand and seal. Womack, Joseph Petty At a Court held for Halifax County the 26th day of March 1810--- The within written last will & testament of Luke Williams dec’d was exhibited in Court & proved by the oaths of three witnesses thereto subscribed and ordered to be recorded and on motion of Zachariah Williams the Executor therein named who made oath thereto according to law. Certificate is granted him for obtaining probate thereof in due dorm he giving security whereupon he together with Jone Jones and William Irby his securities entered into and acknowledged there bond in the penalty of five thousand dollars conditioned according to law.
