The fire, believed to have started from an oil stove, was answered by the Wythe and Hampton firemen. They found the body of Mr. Chandler slightly inside the trailer, near the door. Funeral services were held for the fire victim at the grave in the Phoebus National Cemetery on Monday morning at 11 o’clock. Chaplain L. D. Fletcher of the Kecoughtan Veterans Administration Center officiated. Mr. Chandler is survived by his father, John E. Chandler of Brooklyn NY; George Chandler of this city, and William H. Chandler of Boston; a sister, Miss Elnora Chandler of Providence RI, and other relatives. Smith Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of the burial.
