John D. Rainey -Portsmouth- Died June 1,1987.  Beloved of three daughters, Joan
A. Rainey of Lawrenceville, Deborah E. Rainey of Portsmouth and Joyce L. Rainey
of Philadelphia;  three sisters, Velma Hill of Meherrin,VA, Esther Clary of
Lawrenceville and Carrie B. Alexander of Broadnax, VA;  a brother, Peter J.
Rainey of Meherrin and a grandchild.

Mr. Rainey, 67, a native of Lawrenceville, was funeralized by the Rev. I. S.
Waters.  Burial was in Hampton National Cemetery.
