Hampton - Adron Lee "Ham" Rich, 65, went to be with the Lord peacefully at 
home on June 11, 2007, after battling esophageal cancer.

He was born in Hampton, VA.  He retired from the Newport News Shipbuilding and 
Dry Dock Company after 44 years.  He attended First Friends Church in 
Hampton.  Ham was voted Greatest Crabber Fan in 2005, and loved Bluegrass 
festivals.  Ham loved his family, and was the best husband, father, PaPa, and 
brother there was.

Ham Rich was preceded in death by his son, Alan Rich, his parents, Adron and 
Viola Rich, and his sister, Ida Mae Bentall.

He leaves to cherish his memoris his loving wife of 45 years, Sondra "Annie" 
Rich; his children, Debbie and Randall Gannon, Steve and Sherry Rich, Cathy 
and Michael Crowther; his sisters, Doris Rich, Frankie Shye, and Judy Frye; 
his beloved grandchildren, Amy, Brandon, Holly, Chelsea, Miranda, Alana, and 
his little man Beau; and great-grandchildren Adrianna and Preston.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, at 
Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton, followed by 
burial in Parklawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends Thursday 
from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Friends are encouraged to visit
