Hanover County, Virginia DATE: Approximately 1800. OWNERS: Edward Maynard’s heirs. (1937) DESCRIPTION: This old burying ground, with its ivy and periwinkle, has been allowed to deteriorate greatly. Many old graves are unmarked but two beautiful granite stones remain. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The stones are inscribed as follows: In memory of Lucinda Maynard wife of Edward Maynard Born March 27th, 1789 Died Feb. 11th, 1854 In memory of Edward Maynard Born Dec. 11th 1777 Died Jan. 23rd, 1857 SOURCES OF INFORMATION: Informant: Miss Lilly Gilman, Montpelia, Hanover County, Virginia.
