'"In the name of God amen. I, Robert Anderson of the County of Hanover, State of Virginia, do make this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made, in manner and form following. I wish my just debts and funeral expenses paid. I wish a head and foot stone put at my grave, and a head stone to my daughter Nancy Peasley and that of my deceased father and mother. I wish my Executor hereinafter named to sell the piece of land known as Parsons place and the land of Mrs. R. Jordans and also the 22 1/2 acres in Blackwells neck, public or private, as he may think best. I give the land on the road adjoining E. D. Waid and others to my sons Josephus and Robert P., which Josephus may sell if he thinks best, and put one half of the money at interest for the benefit of Robert P. in safe funds. I give the old place adjoining Elisha White and others to my son William Nelson to him and his heirs forever. I lend all the balance of my Estate to my beloved wife Mary F. during her life or widowhood; at her death or intermarriage I wish my Estate personal to be equally divided amongst all my children, exept Susan E. Sale wife of Augustin W. Sale, to her I give what I have advanced to this time only, and the land on which I now live called "Hill Fork" I give to my children, namely: Mary Moone, Ann Henrietta, Mary Ridley, Martha Robert, Neome Jane, and Robert Pen equally to them and their heirs forever. And it is my wish that a part of the negroes be hired out yearly forthe schooling of the children &c. Richard Turner as he calls himself must pay $25. yearly secured by a bond annually for his hire. And lastly I appoint my son Josephus Anderson and my beloved wife Mary F., Executor and Executrix of this my last will and Testament with a request that the Court will please allow them to qualify without requiring security and that the Court will as I do appoint my son Josephus Guardian of his brothers and sisters without security also. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the fifteenth day of May in the year of our Lord Christ eighteen hundred and fifty. This Last will and Testament of Robert Anderson dec'd was offered for proof by Josephus Anderson the executor therein named and there bring no subscribing witnesses thereto Robert Wade and Joseph H. Street were sworn and examined who declare they were well acquainted with the handwriting of the said Robert Anderson dec'd, that they have examined the said will and verily believe the same was wholly written and subscribed by the said Robert Anderson, dec'd, whereupon it is ordered that the same be recorded as the last will and Testament of the said Robert Anderson, dec'd. Teste, Wm. O. Winston, C.H.C. A Copy, Teste, Wm. O. Winston, C.H.C. ROBERT ANDERSON, of Hanover, died in July 1853. Will dated 15 May 1850. Probated 23 August 1853. Possessed several tracts of land in Hanover and 13 lots near the City of Richmond. Was survived by his widow, Mary F., and issue: 1. JOSEPHUS ANDERSON, removed to Tallahassee, Fla., prior to 30 August 1855. 2. SUSAN E., wife of Augustin W. Sale. 3. MARY M., married Lewis L. Smith. 4. ANN H., married J. M. White. 5. NANCY R., married C. W. Wright. 6. MARTHA R., married P. P. Moone. 7. NAOMI J., married W. E. Rutherford. 8. ROBERT P. ANDERSON, died prior to 1 March 1869, under age and unmarried. 9.
