Henrico County This graveyard is located on what is known as the old Royal or Ryal place. It is a square space of ground about thirty by thirty feet covered with honeysuckle vines and surrounded by large old locust trees. Originally it contained many bodies, most of which have been removed to other grounds or the markers have been destroyed. The remaining tombstone of heavy granite bears the following peculiar inscription and has the stones, foot and head, reversed, the cause of which no one has ever know. Ann S. Copland Was born in the city of Richmond, July 14 1792 Died at Tuckahoe Goochland County Jan. 4th, 1842 And here have her children buried her. Mary daughter of Peter and Ann S. Copland was born Jan. 29th, 1819 Died Jan. 11th, 1829 And was buried within this enclosure
