All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Written: 1703 RICHARD BAYS to WILLIAM LEWIS - 100 ACRES - Henrico CO., VA - 1703/4 ==================== At a Court held at Varina for ye County of Henrico -------------------- To all Christian People to whom these presents shall come Know yee that I Richard Bays Senr. of the County of Henrico for divers good Causes and considerations me thereunto moveing but more Especially for the valuable consideration of Seventeen hundred pounds of good Tobacco and Cask the Receipt whereof I doe acknowledg and myself therewith fully satisfied contented and paid and doe by these presents Sell assign assume bargaine alienate enfeoff and make over unto William Lewis of the Same County his heirs [Executors administrators] or assignes one Tract or parcell of Land Scituate Lying and being in the County abovesaid on the North Side of the White [Oak] Swamp neer or adjoyning to the Land of William Ferris containing one hundred acres and bounded West on the line of Richard Ferris and East on the Land formerly Nicholas Amoss's and William Porter's which sd one hundred acres of Land is part of a Tract of four hundred & three acres To have and To hold the above said Devidend of Land and Every part and parcell thereof with all and singular its Rights members and appurtenances whatsoever in as full and ample manner to all intents and purposes as is granted by pattent together with all Edifices Gardens Building Orchards Hedges fences Ditches inclosures Lands Tenemts. hereditaments meadows ffeedings pastures woods waters and water courses ways profitts and comodities thereupon & thereupon belonging and to the only proper use & behoof of him the said William Lewis his heirs Execrs. admrs. or assignes forever without any Lawfull let Suite Trouble denial interruption Eviction molestacon or Disturbance of me the said Richard Bays my heirs Execrs. etc. or of any other person or persons by mine or their meanes act title privity or procurement and I the said Richard Bays hereby Covenants promises & agrees for and in behalf of himself his heirs Execrs. and to & with the said William Lewis his heirs Execrs. or assigns that he the said Richard Bays at and before the Ensealing & Delivery of these presents is and standeth Lawfully Seized of and in the above described premises and Every part & parcell thereof and hath full Right title and Lawfull authority to bargaine Sell and Convey the Same and Doth hereby & shall and will from time to time to time and at all times forever hereafter warrant and forever will Defend. Evans Henrico County March ye 1st 1703/4 Acknowledged in open Court by the Subscribed Richard Bays Senr. att which time alsoe personally appeared Jane his wife who did freely and voluntarily Relinquish & Surrender up her Right of Dowery in and to the Land and premises in the aforegoing Deed or Conveyance mentioned unto the therein named William Lewis his heirs & assn's forever.
