Henrico Co., VA - Deed Book 60 (work in progress) Wm. S. Crafton to Jas. Nesbitt Deed Book 60, page 557-558, June 10, 1852: This deed made the tenth day of June in the year one thousand eight hundred and fifty two between William S. Crafton, of the one part, and James Nesbitt of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William S. Crafton doth grant unto the said James Nesbitt two Black mules and a buggy the property of the said William S. Crafton. In Trust to secure the payment of one negotiable note to Mariano Giannini for the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars, payable ninety days after date, said note bearing date with this deed, and it is further convenanted and agreed between the parties to wit Jas. Nesbitt, M. Giannini and William S. Crafton that the aforesaid property above mentioned shall remain in the possession of said William S. Crafton until the default of the payment of said negotiable note above mentioned shall appar, and then the said Trustee shall proceed to sell, after due notice shall be given of the sale, time and place, so much of the said property as shall enable him to pay said note and all reasonable expenses accruing thereto, and that the remainder be paid if any to said William S. Crafton or his legal representatives of assignee. As witness the following signature and seals. William S.
