Bufords Detachment Henrico County This may certifie that the bearer herof engaged the 25th of April 1775 to serve 18 months and served from the above mentioned time in my regiment until the defeat of 29 May 1780 where he was wounded. He, the Consalver, has received no pay with my knowledge for any time since December 1799. Given under my hand at Richmond September 8 1783. Signed: H. Buford, Col. Copy: B. Consalver was a soldier in the Continental Army and received the wounds which totally disabled him from military duty and from obtaining subsistence from labour, in the service of the United States. I do with the advice of Council hereby certify that John Consalver, about 27 years of age, late a private in Buford's Detachment was disabled in such a manner while in the service of the United States as to entitle him to the sum of eighteen pounds yearly, which allowance is accordingly made him , to commence from the 1st day of January 1786.
