Henrico Co., VA Marriage Bond William S. Crafton and Sarah Jeffries, 1847 KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we William S. Crafton and Thomas N. Dicken are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the just and full sum of One Hundred and Fifty Dollars, to which payment well and truly to be made to the said Commonwealth, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated this 19th day of May 1847. THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE OBLIGATION IS SUCH, That if there be no lawful cause to obstruct a Marriage intended to be had and solemnized between the above bound William S. Crafton and Sarah Jeffries then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue. Executed in presence of (signed) James Ellett (signed) William S. Crafton SEAL (signed Thos. Crafton is above the age of twenty-one years, (the next part is stricken through indicating that William S. Crafton is not a resident of Henrico Co., VA).
