John Bottom, Henrico Co., Va., Will Dated March 19, 1781; Proven Oct.1,1781

I John Bottom being in a weak State of Body, tho' of sound mind do make this my last will &
testament, revoking all other by me made. - after the payment of all my just debts (3 ltrs illegible) - I give & bequeath to my two sisters Sarah Bottom and Susannah Bottom the plantation on which I now live, in the County of Henrico to be equally divided between them & all the rest of my estate both real & personal. I also give & bequeath to my two sisters above named & the said land & all other estate being equally divided between them. I give them & their heirs forever. In witness where of I have hereunto sett my hand & seal this 19th day of March 1781

At a Court held for Henrico County the first day of October 1781. This will was proved by the oath of Thomas Watkins & William Faris two of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Benjamin Gathright administration with the said will annexed was granted him on the Testators' estate; he having made oath thereto, and together with Miles Gathright and Joseph Gathright his securities, entered into and acknowledged their Bond in the penalty of thirty thousand pounds of crop Tobacco, conditioned as the law directs.
