In the name of God amen, I John Bottom of Henrico County Parish of Viranah (sic) being of sound mind and memory blessed be almighty God for it do hereby in presence  acknowledge of this my last Will and Testament; first I bequeath my Soul to God that give it me and my body to be buried according as my ability will allow and my debt honesty payd (sic) and as for my worldly goods the Lord hath been pleased to bestow upon me after by debts paid I  _____ vise as followeth:

1. I leave to my son John Bottom one hundred akers (sic) of land the head of the land joining near to the line of the White Oak Swamp.

2. I give to my son Thomas the plantation wherein he now liveth being the remainder part of that land, only my son John shall have a free priviledge (sic) of 2 years to make any thing he can during the time.

3. I give my wife Elizabeth Bottom her choice of the 3 beds and what belonging to them and the other beds to Elizabeth and Mary my 2 daughters with all furniture belonging to them.

4. I give to my son John 3 head of cattle and a young mair (sic) the same he hath in possession and no other. I give him a small iron pot 2 gal --- and one __eanter  ____ and 2 plates and all the hogs that are of his mark a ____ and a slit in the right ear and an overheale (sic) in the left, and all the remainder part of hogs and cattle let them be equally divided among the rest of my children and my wife. Only one cow named Coal to be given to my daughter Mary Garratt. I give to my two younger sons William and Joseph one young grey mare and their increase forever between them. I give to my Son Thomas one black mair (sic) and one iron pot -- 4 gal. 

5. Further I give to my wife one dark bay horse named Fidie and a couple of iron pots with pot hooks to be given to all the pots but the pottrake (sic) to my wife.

6.  I give to my daughter Elizabeth one ewe and lamb, I give to my daughter Mary one ewe and 2 lambs. I give to my eldest son John one gun and a sword and all the remaining part of my estate let it be equally divided among my wife and my daughters Elizabeth and Mary and Thomas, William and Joseph and after _____ my son John to be Executour (sic)

At a Court held at Varina for the county of Henrico the first Monday in September being the third day of the month ______ Domini 1711

The afore written will was made oath to by John Bottom the Executor therein named and the same being proved by the Oathe of John Hancock and Mary Hancock, two of the witnesses thereto, it was ordered to be Recorded, and it is accordingly recorded, and on the motion of the said Executor and his performing what is ______ in such case a Certificate for a Probat (sic) is granted him.
