Sums of money due me to be collected by executors and debts to be paid. Wife, Elizabeth Pleasants, during her natural life, land, with appurtenances, whereon I live, together with whole of personal estate for support and maintenance of her and my children; any overplus after purposes before mentioned and education of my children, to be put at interest, and my children to have each their equal portion as they arrive to lawful age. Son Jordan Pleasants, tract of land on James River in Goochland Co., my silver watch; should he die before arriving to lawful age tract of land to be sold and money therefrom to be equally divided among my daughters as they arrive at lawful age or marry. Son Joseph Carlin Pleasants, after death of my wife tract of land whereon I live; Should said Joseph Carlin die before lawful age or without heir then it is optional with my son Jordan to take tract of land I now live on, after death of his mother, in lieu of land in Goochland which if he should do, land in Goochland to be sold and money therefrom equally divided among my daughters as they shall arrive to lawful age or marry. Should said Jordan choose not to make exchange land lent my wife during her life, whereon I now live, may at her death be sold provided she survives my son Joseph Carlin Pleasants, and money therefrom divided as before directed. At death of wife whole of personal estate consisting of household furniture, slaves, stocks of all kinds, plantation utensils, with increase of negroes and stocks, to be equally divided among my daughters, viz; Dorothy, Sophia, Clementine and Mahala Pleasants - should any of said daughters die before lawful age or marriage, division to be made equally between survivors.
