Son John Pleasants tracts of land purchased of Pew Price, Edward Goode and William Sharp, on four Mile Creek, as by respective deeds will appear; water grist mill with land and appurtenances; my right of fishing and seine at Turkey Island; Son Thomas Pleasants, 1 negro girl Hannah, in lieu of negro girl Biddy bought of Joseph Scott for L40; 10s. being part of money left him as legacy by his uncle Exam. Scott, as by his guardian account returned to court doth appear; daughter Sarah Pleasants, negro girl Sylvia bought of James Lyle for L25:10s. part of money left her by her uncle Exam. Scott, as by her guardian account returned to court doth appear; Son Exum Pleasants land I have in Goochland Co. purchased of John Pollock and Thomas Pleasants as by deeds for same doth appear; also 1/3 of 463 acres on Beaver Dam Creek, now in possession of Robert Pleasants (son of John) with whom I made agreement to have dispute now subsisting between us relating to said land determined by Charles Woodson, Fleming Bates and Peter Warren and whom I still desire may end said difference as soon as can be after my decease. Son Exum Pleasants L150 currency; daughter Elizabeth Pleasants, L150 currency; Son Thomas Pleasants, lease I have from William Hatcher for 50 acres at mouth of Four Mile Creek. If either of my sons John or Exum. dies ante 21 years of age leaving no issue, survivor to inherit lands devised him by this will; money given Exum if he should die as aforesaid to be equally divided (between) the then survivors of my children; if both should die, my lands in Goochland to be sold and money arising therefrom divided between my children then living, if son Thomas dies without issue then lands given my son John become vested in Exum Pleasants. Executors to sell lands I have in Bedford, Halifax and Lunenburg and money arising therefrom to be applied toward payment of debts; overplus to be divided between children. Negroes not heretofore mentioned to be divided between my five children vizt; Thomas, Sarah, John, Elizabeth and Exum Pleasants. Residue of estate not before mentioned to be equally divided between five aforesaid children, leaving it discretionary with executors to sell what part they think they may judge necessary. Estate not to be divided until son Thomas arrives at age of 21 years, only if he or my daughter Sarah should marry before that time my executors may pay them balance due by their guardians account as their estate. Son Thomas may take all of my plate on paying appraisement to rest of my children. Executors: Son Thomas Pleasants, my brothers Thomas and Robert Pleasants and my two brothers guardians to my children. Witnesses - Thomas Pleasants, Eliza. Pleasants, James Williamson, Martha Mathews, Mary Younghusband and Hannah White. Codicil: Reversion I have in my father's estate that now is and my mother which may hereafter be, to be equally divided between my children at the time being, likewise my estate in lands in Lunenburg, Halifax and Bedford counties and lands which I have ordered to be sold in case either or both of my sons John and Exum should die in their minority or be sold by my executors as aforesaid.
