I give and bequeath to my very loving brother, Capt. John B. FARRER 2 parcels of land which was formerly laid out and measured by Col. Thomas Ligon, one parcel lying with out Capt Davis Bottoms, and being about 300 acres, the other parcel within the said Bottoms containing something of two hundred acres, all I freely give to my said brother and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten forever. Persuant of the fact I give and bequeath the ?? parcel of land to my two sons Thomas Farrer AND John Farrer and the heirs of thier bodies lawfully begotten, and if either of them die before he has issue then the survivor to enjoy the said land forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my son William FARRER, this neck of land I live on to him and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten forever and the said neck of land is to go beyond my new dwelling house to a ridge of trees , a brook two hundred paces of. but if it shall please God that my son shall depart this life without issue, then my will and desire is that my sons Thomas FARRER and John FARRER have and enjoy the said neck of land to them and their heirs lawfully begotten forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my sons Thomas FARRER AND John FARRER and the male heirs of their bodies lawfully begotten all the land that I have a right and title to without this neck of land already given to my eldest son Willliam FARRER and the two parcels given to my brother John FARRER, all the res i do give to my said sons Thomas and John, and their heirs as above said to be equally divided between them when they please after they shall arive of age. In the name of God, Amen, I Hugh MACKMYELL, being of body sick and weak, but through Gods goodness in perfect health of mind and memory----------------------make this my Last Will and Testament this 7th of November 1678 in manner and form following. I bequeath my soul unto the hands of Almighty who gave it me and my body to the ground from whence it came. I do give and bequeath unto Agnes COCKE daughter of Thomas COCKE, my good friend and neighbor, one black cow calf, of this last years breed whose name is known by the name of strawberry, to be disposed of by her after my decease as she shall thinks good of. I do hereby declare my son ,John MACKMYELL, ---------------to have the benefitt of hs labors, but futher I do recommend him to the protection and government of Almight God and my good friends and neighbors , John Smythe and Thomas Davisrequesting them or either of them, which shall (unreadable) And lastly I do give and bequeath unto my aforesaid son, John MACKMYELL, all the rest of my personal and temporall estate whether horses, mares, catttel, hogs, household stuff, tobacco, debts or whatsoever else it doth or may consist in whether goods or chattelss. All my debts being first discharged ou of my said estate, further I do will and desire my aforesaid friends and neighbors, John Smythe, and Thomas Davis as guardians to my aforesaid son to recieve my said estate unto their hands immediatly after my decease and the same carefully to improve for increase not suffering my said son to dispose of any part threof without the consent of the aforesaid guardians untill he shall come as aforesaid to the age of three and twenty. And then to be delivered to my son in kinds as it now is, and of this my Last Will and Testament I do make and impower my aforesiad friends and neighbors to be joint executors willing and desiring them to see the same performed . ------my hand and seal the day and year aforesaid. Item: I give to my sister Anne BURTON on heifer calf. Item: I give to mu Brother William BURTON four shoates which goes with my Fathers hoggs. Item: I give one mare if she be alive to be divided between my sister Rachel's three children. Item: My will is that my dear and loving wife and my younger daughter shall divid all the rest of my estate which is undisposed of between them equally and I do make my dear and living wife my wholeand sole exectrix. In the name of God Amen, I James CREWS of Lucky Island, planter in Henrico County, being of sound and perfect memory , praised be God , do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First Item: I give and bequeath unto Mary CARTER, daugahter to Jules CARTER, 10,000 pounds of tobacco , one feather bed, two blanketts and one good rug, this to be payed in three years after my decease. The interst hereof to be towards her clothings. Item: I give unto Susan CARTER, ten thousand pounds of tobacco, one feather bed , two blanketts and one rug to be payed as above said. Item: I give unto my man Lewis his freedom he serving three years after my decease and at the expiration of the said time I give unto him one cow and sow if I have any left and as much land and ______________ Item: I give unto Hannah CARTER wife to Giles CARTER my negro maid Keate forever and her increase. Item: I give unto Daniel PRICE my best suit and coat. Item: I give unto Giles CARTER, what he owes me by bill or ........Unreadable and further it is my will that what I have given to the said Giles CARTER'S chldren that if eeither of them should die that it should come to the rest of his chldren. It is futher my will that when the said Hannah CARTER, wife to the said Giles CARTER shall die, then the said negroe wench return to Theodericke CARTER, her son, and if she hath any children, them to be at her disposing who she will give them to. Item" I make my loving cousin, Mr. Matthew CREWS , my sole excecutor of all my lands here in Virginia or elsewhere and all the rest of my estate to him or his heirs forever. My just debts being payed. Item: It is my desire that my loving friend, Giles CARTER shall live here in my said house and command my servants and make crops or any other thing as shall be convenient and necessary for the said plantation, and see to give an account yearly to my said executor James Crews Witnessed in the Presence of:
