I bequeath my soul to almighty God that gave it and my body to be decently buried by the discretion of my Executor. I give and bequeath my eldest son William GRIFFIN, unto Robert MANN till he be eighteen years of age. I give and bequeath my son Thomas GRIFFIN to John GREEN till he be eighteen years of age and he have the keeping of his two cows.................for my son Thomas's use till he be of age, and known by the name of mad calf and the other Damsell. I give unto my son William my .............. I give to my daughter Margareth my bed and one pewter dish and one pewter dish to my daughter Elizabeth . One chest to my son Thomas , my ....pistol and all my tools for the good of the house. I give and bequeath my youngest daughter Elizabeth to Robert MANN till she be eighteen years of age and I do make Robert MANN my sole Executor of this my last will and testament ...........I have set to my hand and seal. Will of William FARRER; In the name of God, Amen, I William FARRER of Henrico in the ................do make and ordain this my last will and testament Viz: I give and bequeath to my very loving brother Capt. John FARRER TWO parcels of land which was formerly laid out and measured by Scott Thomas Lygon one parcel lying without Capt Davis BOTTOMS containing about three hundred acres, the other parcel within the said bottom containing something of two hundred acres, all I freely give to my said brother and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten forever. And for want of..........I give and bequeath the ...parcels of land to my two sons Thomas FARRER and John FARRER and to the heirs of their bodies lawfully begotten, and if either of them die before he have issue then the survivor to enjoy the said land forever, but in the ........of these two parcels of land to my brother John FARRER I make this condition and exception, that my brother John FARRER shall relinquish all the right, title and interest he hath to a parcel of land I ........gave him called by the name of Coles Field or .........this my bequest to be of ....to him nor his. I give and bequeath to my sons William FARRER this neck of land I live on to him and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten forever and the said neck of land is to pass gained my new dwelling twice to a ridge of trees , a b......two hundred paces of, but of it shall please God that my son shall depart this life without issue, then my will and desire is that my sons, Thomas FARRER and John FARRER have and enjoy the said neck of land to them and their heirs lawfully begotten forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my sons Thomas FARRER and John FARRER and the male heirs of their bodies lawfully begotten all the land that I have a right and title to without this neck of land already given to my eldest son William FARRER, and then two parcels given to my brother John FARRER, all the rest I do give to my said sons Thomas and John and their heirs as above said forever to be equally divided between them when they please after they shall arrive of age. I ordain and appoint my brother John FARRER and my son William FARRER to be the executors of this my will...............In witness hereof I set my hand and date this 6th of May 1677. Item: I give and bequeath unto my trusty and well beloved friend Leonard BALLOW his debt that he now oweth me which is about seven hundred pounds of tobacco and ....... Will of Henry ISHAM In the name of God , Amen, November 13th, 1676, I Henry ISHAM, of Henrico County, in Virginia, being sick and weak in body but of perfect and sound mind, my blessed and praised be Almighty God, therefore do make, ordain, constitute and appoint this my last will and testament in manner and form following: First I bequeath my soul to God that gave the same, having through his merits and meditation of my ever blessed Savior to obtain pardon and redemption for all my sins and to inherit life everlasting. I order my body to be decently buried as time, place and opportunity shall permit, and for those worldly goods it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and bequeath as followeth: #1 I give to my half brother , Joseph ROYALL, the full value of forty pounds in food to be delivered him within twelve months after my decease. #2 I give Richard PERRIN his wife, John WILKINSON his wife, and, William BYRD his wife , to each a gold ring about twelve shillings price. #3 I give and bequeath to my honored mother , Mrs. Katharine ISHAM, one full third part of my personal estate, both of what is in Virginia or England after all legacies above are satisfied. #4 I give to my loving sister , Miss Anne ISHAM, one full third part of my personal estate as above. #5 I give and bequeath my plantation in Charles City County in Virginia, commonly known by the mane of Doggons with all the land there........., all the houses, woods and other goods to be equally divided between my tow sisters, Mrs. Mary RANDOLPH and Miss Anne ISHAM aforesaid to them and their heirs forever. #6 I give and bequeath to William RANDOLPH all the rest of my estate both in Virginia and England or elsewhere any ways belonging or appertaining and I also nominate or appoint the said William RANDOLPH my full and sole executor. Lastly , I declare this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking all wills heretofore by me made either written or verbally. Will of Hugh Mackgill In the name o God Amen, I Hugh MACKGILL being of body sick and weak but through God's goodness in perfect health of mind and memory do for devise good causes me thereto moving make this my last will and testament this 7th of November 1678. In manner and form following: First; I bequeath my soul into the hands of almighty God who gave it me, and my body to the ground from whence it came. 2: I do give and bequeath unto Agnes Cocke , daughter unto Thomas Cocke , my good friend and neighbor, one black cow calf of this last years bred whose dame is known by the name of Strawberry to be disposed of by her after my decease as she shall think good. 3: I do devise, give and bequeath unto tempereance Cocke , daughter of aforesaid Cocke, one brown cow calf,likewise of the last years breed to be delivered to her aforesaid father as guardian after my decease and by him to them to be improved by him or them for increase until she shall likewise dispose thereof according as she thinks good. 4: I do hereby declare my sone John Mackgill to be a freeman-------------as to have the benefit of his labors , but further I do recommend him to the care, protection, and government of Almighty God and my good friend and neighbors, John Smyth and Thomas Davis requesting them of which lives longest lives. Rest of will unreadable....but seems to ask that they look after his son until of age or he marries. 5: And lastly I do give and bequeath unto my aforesaid son , John Mackgill all the rest of my personal and temporal estate, whether horses. mares, cattle, hogs, household, tobacco debts, or whatsoever else it doth or may ----------in whether goods or chattels. All my debts being first discharged out of my said estate, further, I do will and desire my aforesaid friends and neighbors, John Smythe and Thomas Davis as guardians to my aforesaid sone to receive my said estate into their hands immediately after my decease and the same completely improve for and increase , not suffering my said son to dispose of any part thereof without the consent of the aforesaid guardians until he shall come aforesaid to the age of three and twenty and then to be delivered to my son in kind as it now is. And of this my last will and testament I do make and empower my aforesaid friend and neighbors to be joint executors willing and desiring them to see the same performed.
