Carter Cemetery Location: 2 miles east of Martinsville, Va., on Rt #58, thence northeast on Rt #57 to Mountain Valley, thence 2 miles east on Rt #647, thence 1 mile on a plantation road. The cemetery is at the end of the road. Henry County This was a wonderful old cemetery with a stone wall about three feet high around it. The rocks were placed one on top of each other without mortar or cement. In the enclosure are lovely cedar trees many years old. At one time this was kept up very nicely, but the tenants have allowed the pigs to get in and almost ruin the place.
