Henry Co, VA, Deed Book 1 (1777-1779) Deed book located at the Henry County Courthouse, Martinsville, VA Deed - Phillip Anglin from Thomas Harbour Pp 67-68 This Indenture Made this Eighth Day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy seven Between Thomas HARBOUR of the County of Pittsylvania of the one part and Phillip ANGLIN of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Thomas Harbour for and in Consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Phillip Anglin before the Ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he the sd Thomas Harbour doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained and sold aliened Enfeoffed & confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell alien Enfeoff and Confirm unto the sd Phillip Anglin a certain Tract or Parcel of land situate lying in the County aforesaid containing by Estimation Three hundred & four acres more or less lying in the County aforesaid on both side of fall Creek Beginning at a White Oak on the county line north 35 degrees east eighty poles crossing a branch to a white Oak north 76 degrees east to a black oak. Thence a new line crossing the creek and up a branch to Walnut Thence north 86 degrees West to a Hickory south 24 degrees East seventy six poles to a Walnut on the north fork of Mayo River Thence down the same as it meanders to the County line along the said line East two hundred and forty poles to the first station together with all trees, woods, ways, waters. Watercourses prospects comodities and advantages and appurtenances whatsoever to the said Tract or Parcel of land belonging or appertaining and also the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders rents and services of the said premises above mentioned and of every part thereof with the appurtenances and also all the Estate right and title Interest Claim and demand whatsoever Either or in Law of him the said Thomas Harbour of in and to the said premises above mentioned or any part thereof to have and to hold the said three hundred & four acres of land and premises above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said Philip Anglin his heirs and assigns forever and the said Thomas Harbour for himself and his heirs doth covenant and agree to and with to an with the said Phillip Anglin his heirs and assigns by these presents that he the said Thomas Harbour the said three hundred and four acres of land and premises above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said Phillip Anglin his heirs and assigns against him the said Thomas Harbour and all and every other Person whatsoever shall and will Warrant and forever defend by these Presents.
