Henry County Deed Book 1 (1777-1779) Deed book located at the Henry County Courthouse, Martinsville, VA Deed - John Journeykin [JARNAGIN] from Zachariah Smith Pp 232-233 This Indenture Made this Tenth day of February one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine by and Between Zachariah Smith of the County of Gilford and State of North Carolina of the one part and John Journeykin of the County of Henry of State of Virginia of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Zachariah Smith for and in Consideration of the sum of Fifteen Pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said John Journeykin the Receipt whereof hereby hath bargained sold and by these presents do bargain sell alien and Confirm unto him the said John Journeykin his heirs and assigns forever one certain Tract or Parcel of land lying and being in the County of Henry containing by Estimation seventy five acres be the same more or less and bounded as follows to wit: Beginning at a Red Oak in said Jno Journeykins line Thence down the said line to ____ the corner Thence along the line up a branch to _____another _____ corner Thence along the line to a Chestnut Thence in the old lines Thence South along the new line to the beginning. The Reversion and Reversions Remainders and Remainder Rights and Estate Interest and benefit claim and demand whatsoever belonging to the said Zachariah Smith of or in or to the same or any part or Parcel thereof to have and to hold the said tract or Parcel of land and all and singular the premises with _______ and every of their Appurtenances to the only use and behoof of the said John Journeykin his heirs and assigns forever and the said Zachariah Smith doth hereby for himself and his heirs Warrant and defend the same forever from the claim or Title of any person or persons whatsoever.
