Henry County Deed Book 3 (1784-1789) Deed book located at the Henry County Courthouse, Martinsville, VA Deed - David Mays from Abraham Mays Page 316 This Indenture made this tenth day of May one Thousand Seven hundred and Eighty Seven By and Between Abraham Mays of the County of Rockingham of the one part & David Mays of the County of Henry of the Other part. Witnesseth that the said Abraham Mays for and in Consideration of the sum of Fifty Pounds Currant money to him in hand paid by the said David Mays the Receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge hath Bargained Sold and by these Presents do bargain Sell alien and Confirm unto the said David Mays his Heirs and assigns forever one Certain Tract or Parcel of Land lying and being in the County aforesaid & Containing one Hundred Acres be the same more or less and Bounded as followeth To Wit: beginning at Marrowbone Creek at the Mouth of the Long Branch at Andrew R___s Corner thence up the said branch to the Mouth of the Hurricane branch and up the same to a Corner White Oak on the said David Mays line thence North alone [sic] the said old Line to the said Creek thence up the same Joining Alexr Joyce to the Beginning the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders, Right and Estate Interest and Benefit Claim and Demand Whatsoever of the said Abraham Mays of in or to the same or any part thereof To have and to hold the said Tract or Parcel of Land and all and Singular the Premisses with their and every of their appurtenances to the only use and Behoof of the said David Mays his Heirs and assigns forever, and the said Abraham Mays doth hereby, for himself and his Heirs Warrant and Defend forever from the Claim or title of any Person or Persons Whatsoever In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the Day and year above Written.
