Date: 28 Feb. 1784 Benjamin Harrison Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that by virtue and in Consideration of part of a Land Office Treasury Warrant Number Eleven Thousand Six hundred and seventeen and issued the twenty sixth day of March one Thousand Seven hundred and Eighty two, there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Eliphaz Shelton Assignee of William Woods a Certain Tract or parcel of Land Containing five hundred and ninety Acres by Survey bearing date the Twenty fifth day of November one Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty two, lying and being in the County of Henry on both sides of North Mayo River and Bounded as followeth, to wit, BEGINNING at a white oak in Leakes old line thence with that line North twenty five degrees East thirty three poles crossing a branch to a white oak North sixty five degrees East sixty two poles Crossing a branch to a white oak in John Sheltons line thence with it North Twenty seven degrees West one hundred and forty poles to pointers North forty nine degrees West one hundred and thirty one poles to a red oak South fifty five degrees West Two hundred and eighteen poles Crossing two branches to a red oak South eighty degrees West Forty eight poles to a red oak North sixty two degrees West Fifty poles to a black Gum South Forty degrees West one hundred poles Crossing a branch to pointers South three degrees East one hundred and thirty one poles to pointers in George Carters line thence with it South fifty Seven degrees East eighty poles to the Mayo River thence across South twenty one degrees East Twenty five poles Crossing a branch to a Sorrelwood South forty five degrees East Thirty two poles to his Corner Chesnut tree thence with his line North one hundred and forty four poles crossing the said branch [? smudged] to a white oak, East three hundred and ten poles Crossing two branches to the Beginning with its appurtenances.
