VA Henry County, Va., Deed Book 3, pp. 425-426 Grantor: John STOCKTON Grantee: James PIGG Date: 25 March 1788 THIS INDENTURE made on this Twenty fifth Day of March in the Year of our Lord Christ One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Eight between John Stockton of Pittsylvania County of the one part and James Pigg of Henry County of the other part Witnesseth the sd. John Stockton for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred and Sixty pounds Current Money of Virginia to him in hand paid at and before the Sealing and Delivery of these Presents the Receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged heath given granted Bargned and Sold and Confirmed and by these Presents doth give grant Bargain Sell and Confirm unto the said James Pig his heirs and Assigns forever a Certain Tract or Parcill of Land Containing by Patent One Hundred and Thirty Acres lying and being in the County of Henry on both sides of the North fork of Mayo River and Bounded as followeth (to witt) Begining at a white oak on the North side of the River and Runing thence New lines North fifty three degrees East twenty poles to a Red Oak, North Thirty five Degrees West crossing a branch of the sd. River One hundred and four poles to Sorel tree South Eightyt five Degrees West Crossing a Creek a branch of the sd. River Sixty Six poles to a Red Oak North Twenty five Degrees, West Ninety poles to a poplar near the river South Sixty five Degrees West Crossing the River Sixty poles to a white Oak, South ten Degrees East One hundred and Sixty poles to a Red Oak and two white Oaks on the South side of the River then up the River as it Manders to the first Station -- with all the appertanaces belonging or in any ways Appertaining to have and to hold the sd. Land and Primises unto the sd. James Pig his heirs Executors and Administrators and Assigns forever and the sd. John Stockton doth for himself and his heirs Covenant and agree with the sd. James Pig his heirs or Assigns from time to time and at all times forever hereafter Peacably and quietly to have hold Possess and Injoy the sd. Land and Primeses and the Right and title of him the sd. John Stockton without the leste(?) Trouble or Molestation from him the sd. John Stockton his heirs Executors Administrator or any other Person or Persons Lawfully Claiming in by from or under them or any of them or any other Person whomesoever and the sd. John Stockton for himself and his heirs the sd. land and Primises and before Expessed Shall and will Warrant and forever defend by these Presents. In Witness the sd.
