Noel Martin, 18 year-old Henry County youth, died at Shackelford Hospital this afternoon, where he had been brought after being shot by John Spencer, late yesterday afternoon. The shooting occurred at the home of Will Martin, in the Bowen’s Creek community. While at the home of his stepfather and mother, Mrs. Rosa Martin, Spencer called Hall on the outside of the residence for a conversation. Shortly afterward, Spencer and Hall re- entered the home and the former stuck a pistol into Martin’s body, firing from close range. Paper dated Sat., Jan. 14th, p. 3, col. 3 [edited]. Funeral and burial services for Noel Martin, 18-year-old Henry County youth who was fatally wounded by John Spencer, were held at Bassett Cemetery Wednesday afternoon. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Rosa Martin; four brothers, John , Willie, Charlie and Curtis Martin, and five sisters, Mesdames Clemmit Craig; Ada Martin; Callie Robertson; Dora Martin and Dollie Spencer.
