James Alvin Saunders, age 24 and Eva Fay Shannon, age 22 were united 
in marriage in the home of and by The Reverend Victor Whited on  
August 20, 1960 in Collinsville, Henry County, Virginia.

James is the son of Della Mae Kasey Saunders and Eugene Monroe 
Saunders of Collinsville, Virginia

Fay is the daughter of Bertie Virginia Moore Shannon and Clarence 
Edward Shannon of Bluefield, West Virginia.


After their marriage Jim graduated from Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, 
Virginia with a history degree.  Fay graduated from the Mercer County, 
West Virginia School of Practical Nursing and successfully passed the 
state board examination becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse.
