Cemetery Location:  1 mile south of Hightown, Virginia, near the Dudley home.
                    Highland County, Virginia

1846, date of oldest grave.

DESCRIPTION:

This graveyard is in very bad condition and looks as if a tornado had struck it.  
The stones, which are of a nice and expensive variety, are nearly all lying on 
the ground and some are broken.  Briars are so thick it is difficult to get to 
the different graves.  A wire fence prevents stock from entering.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:

The Campbell family lived in this section from about 1800 to 1875, being heavy 
landholders as well as people who held positions of honor and trust.  A few of 
the descendants still live in other parts of the county, but many of them have 
migrated to the west and north.
