HIGHLAND COUNTY, VA - CEMETERIES – Old Cemetery ----¤¤¤---- Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection LVA Titled Files: Survey Report, Old graveyard: 1936 Research made by Howard Hiner Cemetery Location: 2 miles south of Head Waters, Virginia Highland County, Virginia DATE: None. OWNERS: George W. National Forest DESCRIPTION: It was a private graveyard of some former owners of property here, it situated in a rocky place in the middle of a field, which has grown up in briars and brush. There is only one stone bearing an inscription. This is a square limestone rock placed at one corner of the burying ground. This rock must have been brought here from some other section of the county, as there is no limestone in this valley. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The inscription is: J.R.
