HIGHLAND COUNTY, VA - CEMETERIES – Siron Cemetery ----¤¤¤---- Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection LVA Titled Files: Survey Report, Siron graveyard: 1936 Nov. 16 Research made by Howard Hiner Cemetery Location: 4 miles southeast of Doe Hill, Virginia, near Siron’s Mill. Highland County, Virginia DATE: 1852. OWNERS: John Siron and his descendants, Joseph Siron, present owner. (1936) DESCRIPTION: This is a private graveyard of the Siron and Keister familes. It is about ninety feet square and is enclosed with a nice fence. It is in good condition and is kept clear of brush and woods. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: John Siron came from Pennsylvania and settled here in 1792. He was a miller, and his great grandson, Joseph Siron, runs the mill at the present time. John Siron died in 1838 and was probably buried here, but the grave is unmarked.
