Cemetery Location:  2 miles west of Vanderpool, Virginia at Meadowdale, near 
                    Route #271.
                    Highland County, Virginia


DATE:

1852, date of oldest grave.

OWNERS:

James Slaven and his descendants,
Mrs. H. H. Slaven, present owner. (1936)

DESCRIPTION:

This is a private graveyard enclosed by a board fence and it is in nice shape.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:

During the War Between the States a number of soldiers died in this vicinity 
while marching through and were buried in this graveyard.  There are no markers 
and their names are unknown.
