HIGHLAND COUNTY, VA - CEMETERIES – Wimer Cemetery ----¤¤¤---- Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection LVA Titled Files: Survey Report, Wimer cemetery: 1936 Oct. 5 Research made by Howard Hiner Cemetery Location: On hill just north of the village of Crabbottom, Virginia Highland County, Virginia DATE: 1849, date of oldest inscription. OWNERS: Wimer family, Village of Crabbottom, Virginia, present owner. DESCRIPTION: This was originally the burial ground of the Wimer family, but it is now a public cemetery. A picket fence, painted and in good condition, encloses the one-half acre of land. Some of the oldest graves have no markers. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Inscriptions: In Memory of Elizabeth B. wife of Andrew Seybert Born Sept. 3, 1814 Died Jan. 9, 1849 Weep not for me my husband and children dear.
