The cemetery is in a field near the side of the house. Isle Of Wight County, Virginia DATE: 1839. Date of oldest grave. OWNERS: Jesse Councill and his descendants. DESCRIPTION: This was the old Jesse Councill burying ground. There are several graves that have no markers. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Tombstone Inscriptions: Media Ann wife of Jesse D. Councill and daughter of Wm. & Barshaba King of Nansemond County Died July 20, 1849 Aged 23 years Judith Yeates wife of Joseph C. Councill and daughter of Elijah & Mary McGlenny of Nansemond County Born March 5th, 1802 Died April 24, 1839 Julius C. Councill son of Joseph C. & Judith Councill Died July 4th, 1851 Aged 23 years Cut off suddenly but not without hope.
