Isle Of Wight County, Virginia DATE: 1861 OWNERS: Mr. Buck Batten. DESCRIPTION: This grave is back of the house about 100 yards covered by a flat stone. There is one other stone standing that has no inscription on it. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: In Memory of Josiah Eley Born Oct. 22, 1798 Died Feb. 21, 1861 Blessed are the dead who die In the Lord from hence forth; yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors, and their works do follow them.
