Isle Of Wight County, Virginia DATE: Unknown. OWNERS: Mr. Sam Bunkley, Eclipse, Virginia (1937) DESCRIPTION: This private cemetery has grown up some, but could find the flat stones and the inscriptions were fairly legible. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: In Memory of Mrs. Matilda Green who departed this life December 7th, 1820 In mother sleepeth So Jesus slept: God’s dying Son Pass’d through the grave and bless’d the bed, Rest here bless’d saint till from His throne The morning break, and pierce the shade. In Memory of William Green Son who departed this life December 30th, 1856 In the 71st year of his age. My father made perfect through suffering. Nor pain nor grief, nor anxious fear, Invades thy bounds, no mortal woes, Can reach the peaceful sleeper here, While angels watch the soft repose. In The Memory Of my Brother William James Son of Matilda & William Green who departed this life October 18th, 1824 In the 5th year of his age. In his earthy bed beneath the flowers, My little brother lies But from heaven’s blue I hear a voice, “Tis his, It sweetly says rejoice, I am beyond the skies.
