Sacred to the Memory of
Emanuel Chapman
Who departed this life
January 27th, 1837
Aged 36 years 9 mos. and 20 days
It may be said of him with truth he lived,
and died an honest life
Moblest work of God


This spot is consecrated to the Memory of
Little John Emanuel
Son of Cap’t John E. & Antoinette Adams
Born Nov. 3, 1851
Died Oct. 28th, 1856
Being about 2 years old.
Sweetly sleep in the quiet of the grave until the resurrection
Morn and then we hope to greet again thy loved form and dwell in
unbroken circle in the presence of him who says-
“Suffer little children to come unto Him
For such is the Kingdom of Heaven”


Sacred to the Memory of
Marie Antoinette
Daughter of Cap’t John E. & Antoinette V. Adams
Born Dec. 3rd, 1848
Died July 28th 1860
Dutiful & Affectionate to her parents, faithful, and docile
as a Sabbath School scholor, obliging and kind to all.
Little Mary in her short cover traced
A model of life worthy of all Admiration
A sweet and lovely child, As a flower she
flourished in the gardens of life
As a precious gem she sparkled
For a time on the breast of humanity;
As a beauteous star she was sent of
God to shed and joy around the domestic hearth.
The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away.
Bleseth be the name of the Lord.
The flower now blooms in a lighter cline;
The Star.
“Sink not in empty night but hides
itself in Heavens own light.”
