In middle of field on side of house. Isle Of Wight County, Virginia DATE: (blank) OWNERS: These graves are on the old Jordan farm. DESCRIPTION: The graves are out in an open field and are not kept up. Mrs. L.L. Chapman in Smithfield secured the graves because she thought they were some of her husband’s ancestors. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Pocahontas daughter of Merit & Paulina Jordan 1836, Dec. 4 Aged 5 years Mrs. Anne B. Jordan Consort of W.H. Jordan March 14, 1839 Aged 22 years Selah F. Jordan Relict of Thomas Jordan who died May 20, 1842 Aged 73 years & 20 days Thomas Jordan of Smithfield June 12, 1818 Aged 49 years, 9 mo. & 14 days James C. Jordan Died Jan. 20, 1855 Aged 60 years, 9 mos. Nannie H. Jordan Died Jan. 8, 1856 Aged 4 years, 7 mo. John Edward Son of John a. & K.G. Jordan died 1854 Aged 19 years SOURCES OF INFORMATION: Mrs. L.L. Chapman, Smithfield, Va., Mr. James Jordan, Windsor, Va. are informants. Mr. Jordan lives on the Jordan Farm and told worker about the graves, and that Mrs. Chapman had already secured them. Worker secured copies of graves from Mrs. Chapman.
