The graveyard is 100 yards north of highway. Isle Of Wight County, Virginia DATE: 1829. Date of oldest grave. OWNERS: Thomas Purdie and his descendants. Mrs. Richard McIlwaine present owner of farm. (1937) DESCRIPTION: This graveyard is not kept up and is in bad condition. It is in a thicket on a hill, enclosed by a wire fence. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Inscription on tombstone: Consecrated to the Memory of Thomas Purdie son of George and Mary Purdie who was born on the 20th of August 1775 and departed this life on the 4th of December 1829 In the 55th year of his age SOURCES OF INFORMATION: Informant: Mrs. J.C.
