Cemetery Location:  6 miles southwest of Isle of Wight, Va. on Route #158; 
                    thence 3 miles east of Route #158 on Route #606; thence .5 
                    mile south of Route #606 on Route #603; thence 25 yards west 
                    of Route #603.
                    Isle Of Wight County, Virginia



DESCRIPTION:

This was a Methodist Episcopal Church.

The Church was torn down and moved to  Windsor in 1907.  The cemetery is the 
only marks left and it is kept up by families whose loved one are buried here.

The Eleys were very prominent members of this church.  Dixon W. Kitchen was 
Secretary of the church for many years.

The gravestones can be easily seen from the road as most of them are standing.  

There are a few flat stones.

Samuel J.
Son of James & Sallie A. Eley
Born Jan. 2, 1857
Little Sammy was the first to sleep in
this silent home of the dead, having been
here interred on 15 of Sept. 1859.


Martha Etta
Daughter of D.W. & M.E. Kitchen
Died June 11, 1861
Aged 10 mos. & 13 days


John O. Eley
Born Sept. 9, 1852
Died Aug. 17, 1854
The casket lieth here; the pearl
Which earth did borrow
for a while his brow to deck,
now sparkles in his coronet,
by whom ‘twas loaned.


Virginia Alice
only daughter of James & Sallie A. Eley
Died Oct. 1, 1852
Age 4 years 11 days

Mr. Crawley Joyner, Windsor, Va. and Mrs. Stagg, Isle of Wight, Va. very kindly 
gave the worker the above information.  Mr. Joyner helped build the parsonage in 
1893 that was moved here at Windsor from Chuckatuck.
