VA Isle of Wight Co., VA, Deed Book 13, pp. 28-30 7 Jan 1773 Ratcliff BOON & wife Mary [RAIFORD] to Wade MOUNTFORD Deed of Bargain & Sale [margin note] BOON & wife to MOUNTFORD } This Indenture made this Seventh Day of January in the year of our Lord Christ one Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy three; Between Rattcliff BOON and Mary BOON his wife of the County of Isle of Wight of the one part and Waid MOUNTFORD of the County of Southampton of the other part Witnesseth that the said Rattcliff & Mary BOON's for & in Consideration of the sum of fifty pounds Lawful Money of Virginia to them in hand paid by the s.d Waid MOUNTFORD the receipt whereof the said Rattcliff BOON and Mary BOON's Do hereby Acknowledge and thereof Acquit and Discharge the s.d Waide MOUNTFORD his Heirs Ex'ors. and Administrators by these presents doth Grant Bargain Sell Alien Enfeoff & Confirm unto the said Waid MOUNTFORD and to his Heirs and Assigns forever all that Tract or parcel of Land lying in the County of Isle of Wight Containing by Estimation Seventy two Acres be the same more or Less and bunded as followeth (to wit) Sixty two Acres Beginning at the Goose Pond marsh branch and up s.d branch through the marsh to the head and from thence to Stephen's branch to a white Oak a Corner Tree of EASON's line and from thence Down said branch to Horse Swamp and down s.d Swamp to black Water and down black Water to the Beginning Ten Acres bounded as Followeth Beginning at a white Oak a Corner Tree of the head of Sandy bay Gutt and then along a line of Mark't Trees of Jessee BOON's to a Red Oak a Corner Tree & down a line of Mark't Trees of Ratcliff BOON's to the Head of the little Branch & down little branch to the Great Branch & down Great Branch to black Water & ["Down" struck out] up black Water to the Beginning [page break] together with all Houses outHouses edifices buildings Yards Gardens orchards ways Waters Watercourses Profits Commodities hereditaments and Appurtenances to the s.d Tract or Parcel of Land belonging or in any ways Appurtaining and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder & Remainders Rents Issues & Profits thereof and every part and parcel thereof and all the Estate Right and Title Interest Property Proportion Claim and Demand whatsoever of them the said Rattcliff BOON & Mary BOON's of in or to the same or any part or parcel thereof and all the Deeds evidences and writings touching or in any ways Concerning the same To have and to hold the said Plantation Tract or Parcel of Land and premises with the appurtenances unto the said Waid MOUNTFORD his Heirs and Assigns To the only use and behoof of him the said Waide MOUNTFORT his Heirs and Assigns forever and the said Rattcliff and Mary BOON's for themselves their Heir Ex'ors: Adm'ors: doth Covenant Promise & Grant to and with the said Waid MOUNTFORD his Heirs and Assigns by these Presents that, the said Rattcliff BOON & Mary BOONs & their Heirs & Assigns doth Give up all the aforesaid Premises with the Appurtenances unto the said Waide MOUNTFORD his Heirs and Assigns Against all and every person & Person whatsoever Lawfully Claiming or to Claim the same by from or under him them or any other Person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever Defend by these Presents In Witness whereof the s.d Rattcliff and Mary BOON's have hereunto Set their hands & Affixed thier Seals the Day and year first above Written- Rattcliff BOON (LS) R his mark Mary BOON X her mark Signed Sealed.............} & Deliver'd in presence of} John Sck: WILLS} John LAWRANCE } [page break] Received on the Day of the Date of the within Written Indenture of the Within named Waid MOUNTFORD, Fifty five pounds Lawful money of Virginia being the Consideration money for the within Premises- Rattcliff BOON R his mark John Sck.
