ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, VA - DEEDS - Henry BOZMAN [BOSMAN] to Henry POPE 8 Feb 1686 Deed of Gift ----¤¤¤---- [p.] 569 The following Pages are Transcripts from one of y.e Antient Record Books w.ch by reason of great Age is Unbound and fallen to Peices wherefore to Preserve them from Danger of being Lost they are here Incerted. - ______________________________________________________________________ [...] [p.] 584 [margin notes] BOZMAN to POPE: Deed Be it known unto all Men by these Presents that I Henry BOZMAN of the County of Nansemond have freely and of my own good Will Given, Granted and Made over from me my Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns ["unto Henry POPE" inserted] for the Term & Time of Ninty Nine Years about Two Hundred Acres of Land lying and being in the Lower Parish of Isle of Wight County and being a part of a Patent of Three Hundred Acres of Land granted unto Ambrose BOZMAN bearing Date the 2.d of June in the Year of our Lord 1673 which said Land was formerly Granted unto W.m SMELLY by Pattent bearing Date the 5.th of October 1667 [neither patent appears in the Land Office Patent Books] which said Two Hundred Acres of Land is lying on the West Side of a Branch called the Head of Queens Creek and to begin at or upon the Main Branch next John MOORS's so runing up the said Branch to a small Branch that is next above Ambrose BOZMAN's little House and so up that Branch to the Head Line. And the said Henry BOZMAN doth for himself his Heirs Executors Administrators & Assigns Convenant and Agree to and with the said Henry POPE his Heirs Executors Administrators & Assigns and to and with every of them that they shall from the Day of this Date for the Term of Ninty Nine Years hereafter Have Hold Occupy Possess & quitly [sic] Enjoy the said Two Hundred Acres of Land before Demised with all Right freely given and with all Rights & Proffitts thereunto belonging or in any wise thereto Appertaining without y.e Lett Hindrance or Molestation of him the said Henry BOZMAN his Heirs Executors Adm.rs or Assigns by their Knowledge or Consent without any manner of Condition or limmitation of Use or Uses Rent or Rents (The Kings only Excepted) and for the better Confirmation of the before Demised Premises the said Henry BOZMAN doth Oblidge himself to Acknowledge this to be his free & voluntary Act & Deed in Open Court when thereunto required as Witness my hand & Seal this 8.th of February 1685/6.
