VA Isle of Wight Co., VA, Deed Book 27 (1825-28), p. 17 3 Sep 1824 William CROCKER Jr. to Jordan PARR, for Hezekiah VELLINES Deed of Trust [margin note] CROCKER to PARR for VELLINES {Trust deed March 13.th 1825 del.d to Jordan PARR This Indenture made this third day of September in the year of christ eighteem hundred and twenty four, between William CROCKER Jun.r of the first part Hezekiah VELLINES of the second part and Jordan PARR of the third part, all of the county of Isle of Wight, and state of Virginia, whereas the said W.m CROCKER stands Justly indebted unto the said Hezekiah VELLINES in the sum of one hundred and thirty one dollars- due by bond the 2.nd day of Sept. 1825. and whereas the said W.m CROCKER is Willing and desirous to save keep harmless and indemnify the said Hezekiah VELLINES in the aforesaid debt- Now this Indenture Witnesseth that for and in consideration of promises and also for the further consideration of the sum of one dollar lawful money of Virginiato the said W.m CROCKER in hand paid by the said Jordan PARR at or before the ensealing and delivery of theses presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by him the said William CROCKER have granted bargained and sold, and doth by these presents bargain and sell unto the said Jordan PARR his heirs executors and admor.s all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county and state aforesaid containing by estimation, seventy acres be the same more or less and bounded by the lands of said Hezekiah VELLINES, Joseph J. CROCKER, W.m J. BOYKIN dec.d &.c also one Negro man named Ned with all and singular the appurtenances, hereditaments and premises to the said tract or parcel of land belonging or in any wise appertaining, and also the aforesaid negroe man Ned unto the said Jordan PARR his heirs Exor.s and Admor.s to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Jordan PARR his heirs exor.s and admor.s forever- upon this special trust and confidence that provided the said W.m CROCKER his heirs Exor.s or admor.s shall fail to pay to the said Hezekiah VELLINES, his heirs Executors, admor.s or assigns the amount of the aforesaid bond with legal nterest from the date thereof, that there and in that case the said Jordan PARR his heirs Exor.s or Admor.s shall at the request of the said Hezekiah VELLINES, his heirs Executors, admor.s or assigns proceed to sell at publick auction the hereby conveyed tract or parcel of land with every of its appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining and also the aforesaid Negro man Ned for ready money after advertising the same at least ten days previous to the day of sale, and out of the proceeds of the sale of the said tract or parcel of land and appurtenances, and also the aforesaid negro man Ned, first pay all cost and charges attendant upon such sale then pay to the said Hezekiah VELLINES his heirs Executors administrators or assigns the amount of the aforesaid bond and the overplus of the sale of the said land and negroe if any pay to the said Wm: CROCKER or his legal representative.
