Indenture made 1729 between John Gray of Bertie and Richard Lewis of the 
county of Isle of Wight in Virginia, for 12 pounds land in Bertie lying on the 
south side of Marattock River adjacent to the north side of Arthurs Swamp, 
Looking Glass Swamp containing 250 acres.
Witnesses: W Gray and Thos Craghill
Registered: May 13, 1729
