ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, VA - DEEDS - Land Grant to Jesse Hargrave, 7 Nov 1783 ----¤¤¤---- Benjamin Harrison Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, To all to whom these Presents shall come Greeting: Know ye, that by Virtue and in consideration of a Land Office Treasury Warrant Number twenty Thousand seven Hundred and five and Issued the Seventh day of November, one Thousand seven hundred and Eighty three there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Jesse Hargrave a certain Tract or parcel of Land containing One Hundred two and a half Acres, by Survey bearing date the twenty fourth day of February one Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty four lying and being in the County of Sussex, and Bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a red oak Corner to Colin Blunts & Bartholomew Bells, thence North Seventy five degrees East Eighty two poles to a small red Oak corner of Colin Blunts and Daniel Turners, thence South thirty degrees East two Hundred and forty poles to a Turkey Oak Corner of Richard Wrens and Nathaniel Jones's Lines thence North Seventyeight degrees West fifty four poles to a Corner pine Nathaniel Jones's Line thence South Eighty three degrees West thirty one Poles to a serup white Oak corner to Nathaniel Jones thence North thirty three Degrees West two Hundred and eighteen poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of Land with its appurtenances to the said Jesse Hargrave and his Heirs forever In Witness whereof the said Benjamin Harrison Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto Set his Hand and Caused the Lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the first day of October in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty four and of the Commonwealth the Ninth ­ Benjamin Harrison Land Office Grants M, 1781-1785, p. 486-7 (Reel 53); eagle.vsla.edu/lonn/ ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
