This Indenture made the Ninth day of February in the Year of Our Lord God One Thousand Six hundred Eighty and Seven Between Philip RAIFORD of the Isle of Wight County of the one part and Thomas HARRIS of the same County Jun.r of the other Part Witness.th that the said Philip RAIFORD for and in Consideration of a good and valuable consideration to him already made and in Hand paid by the said Thomas HARRIS before the ensealing and delivery of these P/sents wherein he acknowledgeth Himself fully Contented Satisfied and Paid Hath Granted Demised & Sold and by these P/sents do fully clearly & absolutely Grant Demise Bargain & Sell Alienate Confirm and make over unto the said Thomas HARRIS his Heirs Executors Adm.rs and Assigns for Ever one Hundred Acres of Land lying and being in the aforesaid Isle of Wight County being part of a Patent of Three Hundred & Fifty Acres of Land granted unto the said Philip RAIFORD bearing Date the 23.d of April 1681 [WRAYFORD, PB7:69] The said Hundred Acres of Land being bounded as followeth (viz) Bounded upon a Branch called the Reedy Branch and so along the afores.d RAIFORD's ["Raifords"] Line to a Corner Tree being a Red Oak and from thence to a Pine and so along the Line to a White Oak standing by a Path and so along the Path to a Pine and from thence to a Red Oak and so to a White Oak by the Reedy Branch Swamp so up the Reedy Branch to the first Station being of the West Side of the Reedy Branch [notes written down along margin] Recordatur P/ John PITT, Clk Cur.t which Land the said Philip RAIFORD Doth for Himself his Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns and every of them That the said Thomas HARRIS his Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns shall from the Day of this Date for ever Hereafter Have Hold Occupy Possess and quietly Enjoy the said One Hundred Acres of Land before Demised with all Rights Proffitts Commodities & Hereditaments whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise Appertaining without any Let or Hindrance Molestation or Contradiction of the said Philip RAIFORD or his Heirs Executors Administra.rs or Assigns or by any other Person or Persons whatsoever by his Knowledge Consent or Procuration without any manner of Condition or Limitation of Use or Uses Rent or Rents (the Kings only [quitrent] Excepted) And for the better and more Authentick Confirmation of the before Demised Premises the aforesaid Philip RAIFORD & Sarah his Wife doth hereby oblidge themselves to acknowledge this Deed of Sale in Open Court when thereunto required to be their free and Voluntary Act & Deed.
