To all Christian People to whom this present Deed or Writing shall come to be 
seen 
I Thomas HARRIS of Chipoaks in the County of Surry send Greeting in Our Lord 
God Everlasting 
Know Ye that I the said Thomas HARRIS for a valuable consideration to me in 
Hand paid by Christopher BEN of the Isle of Wight County Cooper where with I 
Acknowledge my Self to be fully Satisfied & Contented 
Have Bargained & Sold Assigned & Confirmed unto the said Christopher BEN his 
Heirs & Assigns for ever 
All and Singular the Lands, Teniments & Hereditaments whatsoever late in the 
Possession of me the said Thomas HARRIS situate, lying & being

at the Head of Pagan Creek in the County of Isle of Wight aforesaid 
and adjoining unto the Land of the said Xtopher BENN 
and Purchased by me the said Thomas HARRIS of M.r William BATTEE[?] of the 
Isle of Wight County afores.d and of M.rs Margaret UPTON Relict of Lieu.t 
Col.o John UPTON late of the County afores.d Dec'ed as by several Deeds for 
the said Land under their Hands relation being thereunto had more largely 
appear 
To Have and to Hold all and singular the said Land and every Part & Parcel 
thereof before by these P/sents Bargained & Sold together with all Deeds or 
Writings concerning the same or any part thereof passed unto me the said 
Thomas HARRIS with all Priveledges Proffits Commodities & Appurtenances 
whatsoever to the same belonging or Appertaining unto the said Xtopher BENN 
his Heirs & Assigns for ever 
And to the only proper Use & Behoof of him the s.d unto the said Christopher 
BENN his Heirs & Assigns for ever.

And I the said Thomas HARRIS do for my Self my Heirs Executors & 
Administrators and for every of Us Convenant Promise & Grant to and with the 
said Xtopher BENN his Heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs & Assigns and to and with every of 
them by these P/sents that he the said Christopher BENN his Heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs 
& Assigns and every of them the said Land and every Part & Parcel thereof 
(hereby before Bargained & Sold) shall Peaceably have Hold Occupy Possess and 
quietly Enjoy with all the Proffits Priveledges & Commodities thereof without 
the Lett Trouble Incumberance Molestation or Interruption of or by any other 
Person or Persons whatsoever. 
And the Premises hereby Bargained & Sold and every Part thereof I the said 
Thomas HARRIS my Heirs Ex.rs & Adm.rs unto the said Christopher BENN his Heirs 
Executors Administrators & Assigns shall and will Warrant & Defend against all 
People for ever. 
And I the said Thomas HARRIS do for Me my heirs Executors & Administrators 
Covenant Promise & Grant to and with the said Christopher BENN his Heirs Ex.rs 
Adm.rs & Assigns by these P/sents that the said Land hereby Bargained & Sold 
and every Part thereof the Day of the Date hereof and at the Ensealing & 
Delivery of these P/sents is Free & Clear and so shall from henceforth 
continue unto the said Christopher BENN his Heirs Executors Adm.rs & Assigns 
for ever sufficiently Freed & Cleared of and from all manner of former Sales 
Gifts Grants Jointures or other Conveyances concerning the same or any Part 
thereof. 
In Witness whereof I the said Thomas HARRIS have hereunto set my 
my [sic] Hand & Seal this last Day of February Anno Dom' 1657.
