This Indenture made this third day of January one thousand eight hundred and 
seven between William MOUNTFORTT and Wade MOUNTFORTT of the County of Isle of 
Wight of the one part and John ELEY of the same County of the other part 
Witnesseth that the said William MOUNTFORTT and Wade MOUNTFORTT for and in 
consideration of the sum of thirty five pounds eighteen shillings and three 
pence lawfull money of this Commonwealth to them in hand paid at or about the 
signing of these presents the Receipt whereof the said William MOUNTFORTT and 
Wade MOUNTFORTT doth Hereby acknowledge them selves fully and amply satisfyed 
and paid hath granted bargained sold Released and Confirmed and by these 
presents doth grant bargain and sell alien Release and Confirm unto the said 
John ELEY his heirs, Ex.ors, Adm.ors and assigns for ever, a Certain tract or 
parcel of land and premises with the appurtenances now in the occupation of 
the said MOUNTFORTTs & their mother, situated lying and being in the aforesaid 
County of Isle of Wight, Containing by estimation one hundred and ten Acres of 
land be the same more or less and bounded as follows, 
adjoying [sic] black water Joseph DUCK Joseph JOHNSON & Wade MOUNTFORTT

water courses profits, Commodities to the said tract, or parcel of land 
belonging or in any wise appertaining Right title interest use trust Claim or 
demand whatsoever of them the ['said'] William MOUNTFORTT and Wade MOUNTFORTT 
of, in and to the same and every part thereof. 
To have and to hold the said plantation tract or parcel of one hundred and ten 
Acres of land to the only and proper use and behoof of the ['said'] ["William 
and Wade MOUNTFORTT" erased & overwritten...] John ELEY, his heirs and assigns 
for ever, and the said William MOUNTFORTT and Wade MOUNTFORTT to the said John 
ELEY his ['heirs'] and assigns undertakes [sic] to warrent [sic] and defend 
the said plantation, against the title claim or demand of aney [sic] other 
person or persons, Claiming or demanding the same, or aney part or parcel 
thereof; 
Upon Condition never the less if the said William MOUNTFORTT or Wade 
MOUNTFORTT their heirs &c ['do'] and shall well and truly pay or Cause to be 
paid unto the said John ELEY his heirs or assigns the above mentioned sum of 
thirty five pounds eighteen shillings and three pence on the twenty fifth day 
of December next ensuing the date of this Indenture with interest from the 
date hereof, then in that Case this Indenture shall be Void and of none effect 
or else Remain in force 
In Witness whereof the said William MOUNTFORTT and Wade MOUNTFORTT hath
